NH GIS Strategic/Business Plans
In 2006-2007, the State of New Hampshire undertook a strategic planning process to guide and promote coordinated GIS efforts at the state level. Two documents were produced as a result of the process:
• State of New Hampshire Geographic Information System (GIS) Strategic Plan, October 10, 2007 - providing general guidance and recommendations for effective and efficient GIS development in New Hampshire
• State of New Hampshire Business Plan: For a Geospatial Information Officer (GIO), July 10, 2007 - providing guidance on creating a new position to coordinate state level GIS activities in New Hampshire
The work was coordinated by the NH Office of Energy and Planning in collaboration with the New Hampshire GIS Strategic Planning Advisory Committee. Applied Geographics, Inc., served as the project consultant. The effort was funded by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) through a National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) Cooperative Assistance Program (CAP) Grant in Fiscal Year 2006.
The GIS Strategic Plan and the Business Plan were officially endorsed by the GIS Advisory Committee on October 10, 2007, and accepted by the NH Council on Resources and Development (CORD) on November 8, 2007.
